Tile is unforgiving. Layout, substrate prep and waterproofing are decided before the first piece goes down, and no amount of good material rescues a bad setting bed. That is why this work sits with a dedicated tile division rather than being handed to whoever is free. The difference shows up in the grout lines, and again five winters later at the shower curb.
